how much are you missing it?

A few weeks ago, I lost my phone and quickly started searching for it.

The problem? It was literally right in front of me. I got distracted and completely missed it—even though it was right there on the couch.

It reminded me how sometimes the very thing you’ve been looking for is right in front of you. And you don’t even know it.

That’s exactly how I feel about finding inspiration—and why this quote popped out at me this week.

The truth is, finding inspiration doesn’t require going to a four-day silent retreat or sitting on a beautiful beach in Mexico. (Although, I wouldn’t complain about that!)

Inspiration is right in front of us. It’s in the song on the radio, in the way your son or daughter smiles at you, a tree blowing in the wind, or a hug from a trusted friend.

If we keep finding ourselves waiting around for inspiration to come and hit us in the face, we will waste precious minutes, hours, days, weeks, and years away instead of just showing up and getting to work.

Your Action Step: When you don’t feel inspired this week, show up anyway. Do what you are meant to do and notice the inspiration along the way. Take in the good around you. Or, recognize the bad, learn from it, and keep moving forward.

Inspiration will come when you are least looking for it.

Stop waiting for inspiration to come to you. My guess? It’s probably right in front of you. 🧡

With gratitude,

Jamie
